Support

Support is available in the Starveil app. Most questions are answered by Veil Assist, our support assistant. Phone support at 555-0177 is available to Priority, Business and Government customers.

Before contacting support, restart your Terminal, restart your router, check for obstructions and wait 24 hours.

Terms of service

Starveil is a best-effort service. Starveil does not guarantee speed, latency, availability or that a satellite will be overhead at any particular moment. Service credits are available for outages longer than 72 consecutive hours that are not caused by weather, obstructions, solar activity, launches, maintenance, network demand or the customer.

The Terminal remains the property of the customer. The Terminal’s software, firmware and the data it collects remain the property of Starveil.

Disputes are resolved by binding arbitration in Veil City. The arbitrator is selected from a panel approved by Starveil.

Fair use

Unlimited data is unlimited. Customers who use more than 1 TB in a month may be deprioritized, and customers who use much more than that may be contacted. Running a server, a business or a household of more than six people on a Home plan is not fair use.

Account standing

When the network is busy, Starveil allocates capacity by plan and account standing. Account standing considers payment history, network use and conduct on Starveil-affiliated platforms, including Birdie.

Privacy

The Terminal records its location, its orientation, nearby devices, obstruction data and the amount of data used, in order to provide and improve service. Starveil does not sell personal information. Starveil shares information with partners, affiliates, government customers and companies owned by the founder.

Location data from Terminals helps Starveil decide where to add capacity and which districts to offer it to.

Careers

Starveil is hiring launch technicians, satellite engineers and Veil City residents. The work is hard, the hours are long and the mission is the most important thing any of us will ever do. Applicants should be prepared to work weekends, holidays and on short notice during launches, reviews and founder visits.

Starveil offers competitive pay, equity, meals on site and housing in Veil City at a below-market rate that is deducted from pay.
