Six thousand satellites. One Terminal on your roof. Not one cable between you and the sky.

A Lodestar rocket lifting off at night from Cape Catfish while spectators watch from the cliffs

01/ 03Launch

Lift off every three days.

Lodestar leaves Launch Complex 1 at Cape Catfish with 24 satellites on top. Eight minutes later its booster is standing on a drone ship off the coast, ready to fly again.

02/ 03Deploy

Twenty-four satellites at a time.

The stack releases fifteen minutes after liftoff. Within a week the satellites have spread into the shell 550 km up, and the network over San Andreas is faster than it was.

Cable will never reach most of Blaine County. Starveil already has. Plug in the Terminal, point it at the sky and it finds a satellite on its own.5

How it works

A network in low Earth orbit.

Starveil satellites fly at 550 km, about sixty times closer than traditional internet satellites. That is why video calls work and games feel local.

550 km Geostationary orbit, 35,786 km About 65 of these diagrams up 01 Your Terminal 02 Satellite overhead 03 Laser links 04 Ground station 05 Internet
Your Terminal talks to the satellite overhead. Satellites pass traffic between each other by laser until one is above a ground station connected to the internet.

Live network

Always overhead.

A Starveil satellite crosses San Andreas every few seconds. Your Terminal hands off from one to the next before the first one leaves the sky, and lasers carry your traffic the rest of the way.6

Satellite

Built in Veil City.

Every Starveil satellite is designed, built and tested at Cape Catfish, then launched 24 at a time.12

  1. 01

    Solar array

One 52 square metre wing unfolds after deployment and turns to follow the sun.

  2. 02

    Phased-array antennas

Four flat antennas steer beams electronically, with no moving parts, to thousands of Terminals at once.

  3. 03

    Laser links

Three lasers pass traffic across the constellation at up to 200 Gbps, so your data spends less time on the ground.

  4. 04

    Argon thrusters

Raise the orbit after launch, steer around debris and bring the satellite down at the end of its life.

Night sky

Look up.

There has never been more to see in the San Andreas sky. Our satellites are coated in VeilBlack to keep the view clear, and the Starveil Sky app shows you where every one of them is.13

Our commitment to dark skies
  1. Includes satellites that are operational, raising orbit, deorbiting, drifting or under review.
  2. Typical latency measured from Veil City to a ground station in Veil City.
  3. Up to. Most customers will see lower speeds. Some customers will see much lower speeds.
  4. Includes active, paused, trial and waitlisted accounts.
  5. Starveil is not a lifeline service. Do not rely on Starveil to call 911. Use a phone, a radio or a neighbor.
  6. All traffic is routed through the Veil City gateway for quality and review.
  7. Standard data is deprioritized after 1 TB in a month, or during peak hours, whichever comes first. Peak hours are 07:00 to 01:00.
  8. Do not use Starveil while driving. Roam Unlimited supports use while driving.
  9. Priority traffic is prioritized over Home and Roam traffic. Priority is not prioritized over Government, Business Max or founder traffic.
  10. Up to 160 W while heating, aligning, updating or working.
  11. $0 with a 12-month commitment in eligible areas. Eligible areas are areas where Starveil has excess capacity, which are not the areas where you live.
  12. Satellites are designed for five years of service. Terminals are designed for three.
  13. Starveil Sky shows Starveil satellites. Stars are available in Starveil Sky Plus.
